Alex Film Society's Hollywood Scares
The Alex Theatre Performing Arts and Entertainment Center is well known for their Halloween events. This year you can catch a full length stage production of Hollywood Scares!, which is an all ghoul version of the long-running Hollywood Squares quiz show. Boo at the L.A. Zoo
From October 1st through the 31st the L.A. Zoo features a variety of exciting Halloween-themed events. Visitors can take photos at the pumpkin patch, find their way through a corn maze by answering questions about nocturnal creatures, and get the chance to pet all sorts of exotic animals throughout the week.
Stop out on the weekend to watch the animals enjoy seasonal treats (like and elephant eating a pumpkin), enjoy a spook-tastic puppet show, and marvel at the expert pumpkin carving demonstrations. There's even trick or treating on the 28th and 29th!
Montrose Halloween Spooktacular
Looking for a fun trick or treat event the whole family can enjoy? Look no further than the Montrose Halloween Spooktacular at the Glendale Fashion Center.
This fun, friendly event features over 100 merchants handing out snacks for anyone who comes dressed for the occasion. This is a great way to give your children the joy of old fashioned trick or treating while giving yourself the perfect excuse to hit the mall.
Tofurky Trot and Vegan Food Fest
This vegan-friendly version of the classic Turkey Trot is designed to support local communities and animal rescue groups while introducing people to the benefits of a plant based diet. Costumes are welcome in this 5k with prizes awarded for first places and best dressed. Runners who register in advance receive a free tote bag filled with Tofurky Trot paraphernalia and product samples from the event's vendors.

GCPEA Fall Festival
On November 4th the Glendale College Parent Education Association (GCPEA) is holding their annual Fall Festival. The event takes place in their B parking lot from 10 am to 2 pm and is free for all adults with a one time fee of $20 for children to help keep this event going year after year. Each sibling is only an additional $15, helping those with larger families save some cash.
The fee covers unlimited pony rides, a petting zoo, slides and jumpers along with a slew of other fun activities. (Think face painting, balloon animals, and crafts.) There is also a fantastic food sale taking place during the event filled with baked good and tasty treats.
Dia De Los Muertos
Hollywood Forever offers you the chance to paint your face dead and join the 18th annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration. For a mere $20, you can enjoy fine Mexican cuisine from top-rated vendors while browsing the unique items offered by the arts and crafts vendors.
